Time to blitz through some more Kickstarter projects. Times are in MDT through 10/31, then MST, and all funding levels were accurate as of the day before this posting. Also, several of these projects have deluxe versions for more money. I’m only going to give the very basic pledge prices.
Mr. Cabbagehead’s Garden (Todd Sanders, LudiCreations) started life as a PNP, got published in 2018, and is now getting a second edition. It’s a 1-2 player game where you’re building a garden and trying to score points. I love the vintage art, and this is one I’ve had my eye on for a while. (Ends 10/30 @ 10:59 PM. Currently funded. $24. Estimated to arrive May 2021)
Unforgiven: The Lincoln Assassination Trial (Tom Butler, Green Feet Games) is a game about the trial of Mary Surratt, one of eight people on trial for the conspiracy to assassinate the 16th President of the US. Surratt was the first woman executed by the US government, but in this game, you’re either trying to prove her guilt or innocence. It’s a pretty intense subject for a game, and sounds very interesting. (Ends 10/31 @ 3:01 PM. Currently funded. $29. Estimated to arrive April 2021)
Lost Ones (Gordon Alford, Greenbrier Games) is a cooperative map exploration game set in a fantasy world. It’s very much a story driven game, and choices you make take you down different paths of the story. The game is very pretty, and seems like a pretty solid adventure to embark upon. (Ends 11/2 @ 6:00 PM. Currently funded. $30. Estimated to arrive June 2021)
TacTiki (Gábor Incze, Drawlab Entertainment) is a memory-based abstract game where you are moving totems across the board. Each one has secret numbers on it, and you can defeat your opponent’s totems with a lower number. It’s a very nice looking game, and seems like a pretty good strategic game. (Ends 11/5 @ 2:30 PM. Currently funded. £27. Estimated to arrive May 2021)
Radioactive Bees (José L. Navas) is a game about building a beehive with radioactive bees. It’s really an abstract tile laying game where you are stacking tiles, collecting rings, and trying to score points. We like bee games here at this blog, and this one looks like a pretty interesting take on building the hive. (Ends 11/6 @ 8:57 AM. Currently funded. $24 [1-2 player]. Estimated to arrive June 2021)
Kabuto Sumo (Tony Miller, BoardGameTables.com) is a dexterity wrestling game (with bugs) where you’re sliding discs onto a crowded board to try to knock your opponent off. Players have different wrestlers with their own signature moves to use. Seems like a fun game. (Ends 11/12 @ 10:00 PM. Currently funded. $29. Estimated to arrive June 2021)
Freedom Five (Richard Launius/Adam Sadler/Brady Sadler, Arcane Wonders/Greater Than Games) is a board game that is grown out of GTG’s Sentinels of the Multiverse IP. It’s basically a reimplementation of Launius’ classic co-op Defenders of the Realm, but now with superheroes. It’s also part of the Dice Tower Essentials line. (Ends 11/13 @ 6:00 PM. Currently funded. $49. Estimated to arrive November 2021)
Commissioned: The Call (Patrick Lysaght, Chara Games) is an expansion to one of the more successful biblically themed games out there, Commissioned from 2016. Commissioned is about the early Christian apostles, and The Call expands that concept to explore the realities of the situations the apostles found themselves in. (Ends 11/19 @ 7:59 AM. Currently funded. $29 just the expansion, $69 with base game. Estimated to arrive August 2021)
Townsfolk Tussle (Stephen Louis/Tony Mayer/Rachel Rusk, Panic Roll) is a game about defending your town from various nefarious characters after the murder of your sheriff. I haven’t looked too closely into the gameplay, which looks like it has a lot of combat, but the art style is wonderful – very vintage cartoon. (Ends 11/19 @ 8:00 AM. Currently funded. $85. Estimated to arrive September 2021)
Sakura Arms (BakaFire, Level 99 Games) is a game that was first published in Japan in 2016, then picked up and released in the US by AEG. Level 99 has the rights now, and as it’s a two-player dueling game, that TOTALLY makes sense. You pick a goddess, you build a deck, you fight. There are several strategic paths to go down. L99 has a habit of making me enjoy two-player dueling games (which is otherwise outside my wheelhouse), so I’m interested in finding out more. (Ends 11/19 @ 11:00 PM. Currently funded. $29 for the basic set. Estimated to arrive August 2021)
And that’s it for another Blitz. Stay safe out there, and thanks for reading!
